We have chosen Ashland for our retirement home, so you may note our
bias! We love the live theatre, fine dining, galleries, and college events such as classes, lectures
and music that provide the cultural advantages of a big city. Yet, with just 20,000 residents,
Ashland still has a small community feel and no urban problems.
The climate is ideal, with four delightful seasons. Retirees can enjoy gardening, fishing and
camping in the summer, skiing or snowshoeing in the winter, and strolling through beautiful Lithia
Park to enjoy the gorgeous colors of spring and fall. There are miles of trails for cycling and
hiking. Even the dogs have their own park where they can play with friends! Visiting grandchildren
will love playing in the snow onMt. Ashland,
the water slide at Emigrant Lake, the hands-on
ScienceWorks Museum, and learning
about Shakespeare. It's all right here!
